Description of Pollen Vida

Bee pollen extract, processed in Switzerland

What are pollen?

Pollen is the male germ cells of plants, also known as pollen. They contain many vitamins, minerals, trace elements, essential amino and fatty acids, enzymes and secondary plant substances such as flavanoids. Bee pollen also contains polyphenols, which are known for their antioxidant effects. This antioxidant effect helps the body eliminate free radicals.

Pollen, pollen shells and allergies

The valuable pollen content is surrounded by a protective pollen cover. This pollen cover consists of specially formed proteins. These proteins can cause allergies in the body. In the pollen extract we use, the pollen coat has been broken open using a special process so that the valuable pollen content can be more easily absorbed by the body. In addition, the danger of allergies is greatly reduced due to the destroyed pollen shell. However, for the sake of completeness we mention that pollen Vida may contain traces of allergenic substances.

What is the difference between bee pollen and Bee pollen?

Bees also collect pesticides, poisons and highly allergenic substances with the pollen from flowers. The pollen is obtained by means of a mechanical device where the bee removes part of its harvest when it returns to the hive. The pure Bee pollen that we use, on the other hand, is extracted with large vacuum cleaners from fields where only the desired species grow, which have not been treated with pesticides. Accordingly, the quality of Bee pollen is much higher.

Is Bee pollen more expensive than bee pollen?

According to studies, conventional bee pollen only absorbs approx. 3-12% of the ingredients in the intestine. The hard pollen coat often cannot be split and the pollen is excreted unchanged. In Pollen Vida, the pollen shells have been broken open using a patented process so that the body can absorb 100% of the ingredients. Calculated on the bioavailability, the pollen in Pollen Vida is therefore about 50% cheaper. This highly concentrated form not only offers price advantages, but is also easier to dose.

Why does the pollen extract also contain components of the stamp?

The pistil is the female part of a flower. When a flower is ripe for fertilization, it produces large amounts of a special enzyme in the pistil, which makes the fertilization process and subsequent cell division genetically pure and without error. This enzyme is called superoxide dismutase (SOD), has an antioxidant effect and is also found in the human body. For the pollen/stamp extract used in Pollen Vida, we have succeeded in extracting the SOD from the stamp and making it bioavailable by a special process so that it can be absorbed in the intestine.

Where does the pollen in Pollen Vida come from?

The pollen all originates from Sweden. We buy the pollen as raw material and process and encapsulate it in Switzerland.
